WELLNESS, LIFESTYLE AND STRESS MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS

Wellness, lifestyle and stress management programs can appear overwhelming with all the information available to us in the media, web, journals, etc.

Wellness encompasses adequate to optimal functioning in several areas: physical wellness, emotional wellness, psychological wellness, social wellness, occupational wellness, spiritual wellness, intellectual wellness, environmental wellness, financial wellness and medical wellness. Thus, wellness is multidimensional state describing the existence of optimal functioning in an individual exemplified by his/her quality of life and sense of well-being.

And wellness in general is closely related to stress management. Research shows that stress impacts your immune system, which can lead to greater health issues down the road. Studies have also shown that stress can lead to emotional eating and other maladaptive behaviors that can impact health (eg., increased pressure, cholesterol, depression & anxiety) . Therefore, stress management can impact on many dimensions of our lives when we think of wellness. Having a plan and tools for stress management in your life could be an important step towards maintaining overall wellness.

Stress management is an individualized process, and each individual who participates in the program should expect their specific needs to be taken into consideration.

The scope of the program encompasses biofeedback training, relaxation training with neurofeedback, guided imagery, etc., including individual consultations and follow-up sessions to ensure we meet your individualized goals.
